New Delhi, June 8 (IANS). Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama’s left knee surgery has been successful. His personal physicians issued a health bulletin on Monday. Dalai Lama’s left knee replacement was done in a private hospital in New Delhi.
The Dalai Lama’s personal physicians Dr. Tsetan D. Sadutshang, Dr. Tamdin Tsewang, Dr. Tsering Lhadon and Dr. Tenzin Sundu, as well as his secretary Tenzin N. Takla gave an update on his health after successful transplant surgery at Apollo Hospital.
According to the statement, the Dalai Lama was brought back to the hospital room in stable condition after the surgery. His recovery is going well and his morale is also good.
Also in June 2024, he had a successful right knee replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, after which his recovery was good.
Doctors said that after the current procedure his condition is stable and his health continues to improve. Doctors said that the medical, nursing and administrative staff of the hospital have provided excellent care in his treatment. The statement expressed gratitude for the hospital’s professional service, dedication and cooperation.
Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama reached Delhi on Friday. Before leaving for Delhi from Kangra Airport on Friday morning, a large number of followers gathered at the airport. His followers stood even in the rain to have darshan of the religious leader.
For a long time, Dalai Lama has been living in Mcleodganj, Himachal Pradesh. Since leaving Tibet in 1959, he has taken refuge in India and has made Dharamshala his permanent residence.
Religious leader Dalai Lama was suffering from knee pain for a long time. After undergoing knee surgery, the Dalai Lama will go to Ladakh at the end of June. There they will stay for an extended period. Detailed information about his programs and stay in Ladakh will be released later.
