New Delhi, April 19 (IANS). As the summer season approaches, the demand for sugarcane juice increases. Its taste is sweet and refreshing, which provides instant energy to the body. Many people drink it regularly considering it good for health. But if seen from a scientific point of view, not everything is right for every person. Sugarcane juice can also prove to be harmful instead of beneficial for some people.
Sugarcane juice is dangerous for people suffering from diabetes. Sugarcane juice contains very high amounts of glucose and sucrose. When it enters the body, it rapidly increases the sugar level in the blood, due to which the situation can be dangerous. Suddenly increased sugar levels can cause fatigue, dizziness or other problems. Therefore, doctors usually advise such patients to stay away from sweet drinks.
At the same time, sugarcane juice is not the right option for those who want to lose weight or those who are already suffering from obesity. Even though sugarcane juice is natural, it contains high amount of calories, which can convert into fat. Additionally, sugary beverages also send hunger-inducing signals to the brain, causing a person to overeat. For this reason, sugarcane juice can become a hindrance for people trying to lose weight.
People who have weak digestive system should also drink sugarcane juice with caution. Many times this juice is prepared in the open. In such a situation, bacteria or other harmful microorganisms may be found in it. This can cause problems like gas, bloating, pain or diarrhea in the stomach.
Sugarcane juice is harmful for people suffering from kidney and liver related diseases. The body suffering from these diseases already has less capacity for functions like removing toxic elements from the body and keeping the nutrients balanced. In such a situation, excess sugar can put additional pressure on them. This can disturb the balance in the body and the problem can become serious.
