New Delhi, July 3 (IANS). The rainy season brings with it coolness and freshness, but at the same time many changes also take place inside the body. According to Ayurveda, in this season the digestive power, i.e. Jathragni, becomes a little weak, hence whatever we eat and drink has a direct impact on our health. For this reason, it is considered very important to follow the menstrual cycle, so that the body can remain balanced and safe from diseases.
The Ministry of AYUSH posted on its official social media account X that it is best to eat light, fresh and easily digestible food in this season. Heavy, fried and stale food can further weaken digestion. The risk of moisture and infection also increases during the rainy season, hence one should avoid eating outside or open food. Simple home-made food, like moong dal, boiled vegetables and food with mild spices is considered better for the body.
Ayurveda also says that sour and salty tastes should be consumed in limited quantities during this season. At the same time, things like milk and curd should be consumed thoughtfully, because they can increase phlegm and increase problems like cold or heaviness.
Change in the way of drinking water is also necessary. In this season, drinking boiled or lukewarm water is considered safer and beneficial. If you start your morning by adding some honey to lukewarm water, it helps in detoxifying the body and improving digestion.
Yoga and light exercise are also very beneficial during the rainy season. This keeps the body active and the digestive system remains balanced. Easy yoga asanas like Vajrasana, Trikonasana, Setubandhasana and Padahastasana are considered especially useful in this season.
Along with this, it is also important to take care of cleanliness, because the risk of infection increases in this season. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be eaten only after washing them thoroughly.
