Take special care of your health in the changing seasons, do not make these mistakes even by mistake

Increasing heat, how to avoid heat stroke? Health expert's advice

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS). It becomes very important to take special care of health in the changing seasons. Due to heat, rain and sudden changes in weather, risks like viral infections, stomach related diseases, dengue and malaria increase rapidly. In such a situation, according to health experts, these risks can be reduced to a great extent with a little caution and right habits.

Experts of the National Health Mission (NHM) warn not to ignore symptoms like fever, headache, vomiting, diarrhea or weakness. Many times people consider it a symptom of normal weather change and rely on home remedies, which can prove dangerous. Consult a doctor immediately and get the necessary tests done.

Health experts suggest exercising daily, getting enough sleep, and keeping stress at bay as the seasons change. By adopting these small precautions the entire family can be kept healthy.

According to NHM, do not make any mistakes even by mistake, otherwise a small problem can take the form of a big disease. The biggest danger when the weather changes is water and food related diseases. Experts say that drinking clean water is most important at this time. Always use boiled or filtered water. Avoid drinking cold water or unfiltered water from the market.

Don’t make the mistake of eating stale food even by mistake. Food spoils quickly when the weather changes, so eat only fresh and well-cooked food. Eat a balanced and nutritious diet that includes seasonal fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains and adequate protein. Due to this, the body’s immunity remains strong. Hand hygiene is the biggest protective shield at this time.

At the same time, wash hands thoroughly with soap before eating food, after using the bathroom and as soon as you return home from outside. Especially inculcate this habit in children. It is equally important to maintain cleanliness in and around the house. Do not allow water to accumulate on the roof, pots, cooler or anywhere else. Pooled water causes mosquitoes to breed, which spread dengue and malaria. Do regular cleaning around the house and use pesticides appropriately.
