The habit of keeping food wrapped in newspaper or foil can become a big danger, it can be fatal for health.

New Delhi, April 21 (IANS). Our everyday life includes many such habits, which we adopt without thinking. Especially habits related to kitchen are often passed from generation to generation, like keeping bread wrapped in newspaper. As time progressed, aluminum foil replaced newspaper, but whether it is newspaper or aluminum foil, it is harmful for our health.

Keeping food in newspaper can prove to be dangerous for health. The ink used to print newspapers contains many types of chemicals. According to scientific research, when the chemicals present in these inks come in contact with hot or oily food, they start dissolving in the food. In this way, these harmful elements can reach our body, which can affect the digestive system in the long run.

Street foods like pakodas, jalebi or samosas available in the market are often given wrapped in newspaper. When these things are consumed repeatedly in this manner, the possibility of accumulation of toxic elements in the body may gradually increase. Although its effect is not visible immediately, in the long run this habit can pose a risk to health.

Now talking about aluminum foil, it is generally considered better than newspaper, but it is also not completely safe. Scientific research shows that when hot, sour or spicy food is kept in foil, a small amount of aluminum present in it gets mixed with the food. Although this quantity is very small, but if done daily, it can gradually have an effect on the body.

Due to heat, the particles present in the foil dissolve more easily in the food, so it is okay to use foil occasionally, but it is not right to make it a daily habit.

To avoid these risks, it is important to adopt other correct methods. Health experts recommend that it is better to use steel or glass utensils to keep food safe. Apart from this, clean cotton cloth or food-grade paper are also considered good options.
