New Delhi, December 25 (IANS). Nowadays, most of the work is done through computer or mobile. In such a busy life, due to working on the screen for hours, strain, fatigue and weakness in the eyes have become common problems. Ayurveda tells us that better vision can be achieved by adopting simple habits. One of these easy and effective methods is foot massage i.e. Padabhyanga.
The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India states that massaging the feet regularly with ginger oil keeps the eyesight clear and keeps many diseases away.
According to Ayurveda, there are many important marmas and nadis in the feet, which are directly connected to the eyes. Four major nerves in the feet are said to be connected to the eyes. Massaging them with oil relieves eye strain, keeps the vision strong and prevents problems like dry eyes.
Ginger oil is hot in nature, which increases blood circulation and balances Vata dosha. This provides nutrition to the eyes and reduces fatigue. Padabhyanga is part of the daily routine of Ayurveda. Lightly massaging the feet with ginger oil before sleeping at night not only keeps the eyes healthy, but also helps in good sleep, reduces stress and also removes swelling and pain in the feet. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, which reduce swelling and improve blood flow.
Ginger helps in reducing eye fatigue and surrounding stress. It is very easy to adopt this method. Take pure ginger oil or mix ginger in sesame oil, lukewarm it and massage the soles, heels and toes of the feet for 10 to 15 minutes. After massage, you can wash your feet with warm water or wear socks and sleep.
Ayurveda experts recommend adopting Padabhyanga daily to prevent eye diseases. It is not only a boon for the eyes but also keeps the entire body fresh. Regular foot massage will make a difference within a few weeks. However, if there is any serious problem, then definitely consult a doctor.
