New Delhi, October 14 (IANS). Change in weather affects our body, especially the problem of pain and stiffness in joints starts. This problem increases even more in the winter season, due to which the elderly and people suffering from joint-related problems are especially affected. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga can be a natural and effective solution to this problem. It proves helpful in increasing the flexibility of joints and reducing pain. Yoga not only strengthens the body but also reduces mental stress.

Bhujangasana: Bhujangasana is considered very beneficial for the spine. To do this asana, a person has to lie down on his stomach and keep the palms of his hands near the chest and slowly lift the chest up. This asana strengthens the waist muscles and brings flexibility to the spine. Bhujangasana proves to be extremely beneficial for those who feel back pain or stiffness in the neck and shoulders. This provides relief from joint swelling and pain.

Trikonasana: Trikonasana is very useful for joints, especially this asana helps in removing stiffness of hips, knees and ankles. In this asana, the person has to stand straight and keep his legs slightly apart and turn one leg outwards. Then one has to bend the body towards that direction and try to touch the ground with the other hand, while the other hand is upwards. By rotating the neck upwards, this asana stretches many joints of the body and increases their flexibility. Regular exercise provides relief from joint pain.

Gomukhasana: Gomukhasana is especially known for removing stiffness of shoulders and hips. This is an effective yoga asana done while sitting. In this, one leg is bent and placed under the other leg and an attempt is made to join both the hands behind the back. This process strengthens the muscles of the shoulders and hips and improves their movement. This asana is very helpful for those who feel stiffness in their shoulders and hips. Besides, this asana also helps in keeping the spine straight and strong.
