These yoga asanas are effective in providing relief from back-waist pain and also in removing stiffness from the body, advice from Ministry of AYUSH.

New Delhi, June 4 (IANS). There is less than a month left for World Yoga Day. In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India is telling people the importance of yoga every day and advising them to make it a part of their daily routine. The ministry says that regular yoga practice can prove helpful in providing relief from common problems like lower back pain.

Due to today’s hectic lifestyle, habit of sitting for long hours and lack of physical activities, a large number of people are suffering from the problem of back and waist pain. The Ministry of AYUSH has described yoga as a natural and effective solution for such people. According to the ministry, by adopting the mantra of “Stay Yoga-Yukt, Stay Disease-Free”, people can improve their health and prevent many health problems.

Yoga experts believe that regular yoga practice strengthens the core muscles and back muscles of the body. This provides better support to the spine and can reduce the problem of pain. Yoga is also helpful in increasing flexibility in the body, removing muscle stiffness and reducing stress. It also improves body posture, which makes it easier to walk and do daily tasks.

The Ministry of AYUSH has suggested some special yogasanas and pranayam to get relief from back and waist pain. These include Ardhachakrasana, Setubandhasana, Katichkrasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasana and Surya Bhedan Pranayam. Doing these exercises regularly strengthens the back muscles and improves the flexibility of the spine.

Yoga experts say that yoga is not limited only to pain relief. Yogasanas, done correctly, can also help in reducing digestive problems, improving body balance and increasing mental concentration. This is why yoga is seen as an effective lifestyle for overall health.

Experts recommend that yoga should always be practiced with correct technique and under the guidance of a trained yoga teacher. If a person has severe back pain or other health related problems, it is also important to consult a doctor before starting yoga.
