Gandhinagar, June 26 (IANS). Gandhinagar district has achieved a major achievement in providing quality health services to the people. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has provided National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificate for providing excellent health services to Shahpur, Kantha and Veda Ayushman Arogya temples of the district.
These health centers have met 12 key standards in terms of health facilities like Oral Health Care, Primary Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Care, Antenatal Care and Maternity Services, Neonatal and Child Health Services, Mental Health Care, Non-Communicable Disease Management and distribution of free medicines to patients. According to the local residents, they are getting all the facilities like medical consultation, lab testing and medicine free of cost at these Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
Local resident Hitendra Rathod said that if there is any kind of problem, you get primary facilities here. Malaria, TB, everything is treated here. Here doctors treat everyone, ambulance facility is also available if needed.
Sangeetaben Prajapati said that all the facilities are available here, medicines for BP and diabetes are available. Facilities for treatment of common diseases are also being provided.
The team of the Union Health Ministry had done a virtual assessment of these Ayushman Arogya Mandirs through digital medium, in which these health centers have met all the 12 standards. At these centres, not only medical facilities like TB eradication and vector-borne disease control are being provided to the patients under National Health Programmes, but free screening of non-communicable diseases like BP, diabetes and cancer is also being done.
Dr. Kirti Das Chaudhary of Ayushman Arogya Mandir said that 12 types of services are available here. There are 14 types of lab tests which are available at the centre. All the work of national health is completed. Programs are completed to avoid infectious diseases.
Dr. Zahid said that this certification is given by the Government of India under the National Quality Assurance Standard. Under this, a team of 6 departments does the assessment.
The National Health System Resource Center of the Health Ministry conducts assessments from time to time to examine the health facilities in primary health centers across the country. Meanwhile, these health centers of Gandhinagar have got more than 90 percent overall score.
District Quality Assurance Medical Officer Dr. Dharmesh V Parikh said that the check list and criteria have been fixed by New Delhi. We have been successful in them. Many villages like Beda Kantha Shahpur have met the national standard and many hospitals will be included in this list.
It is evident from the better health facilities available at the health centers of Gandhinagar that the state government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is taking special care of the public health facilities. This success of Gandhinagar in fulfilling the commitment of Healthy Gujarat, Prosperous Gujarat is going to inspire other districts of the state also.
