Tossing and turning all night long? There may be deficiency of these essential nutrients in the body

New Delhi, June 7 (IANS). In today’s fast-paced life, getting good and deep sleep is becoming one of the biggest challenges for people. Many people go to bed on time at night, but do not sleep for hours. Some people have frequent sleep interruptions, while others feel tired as soon as they wake up in the morning. Generally, the reason for this is considered to be stress, work pressure, excessive use of mobile and laptop or irregular daily routine. However, scientific research shows that in many cases the deficiency of some essential vitamins and nutrients in the body can also affect the quality of sleep.

According to scientists, when we sleep, the body repairs itself, the brain organizes the day’s information and hormones are balanced. If this process is repeatedly disrupted, it can affect the entire body. Prolonged poor sleep can lead to fatigue, irritability, lack of focus and many health problems.

In research, Vitamin D has been considered one of the important nutrients related to sleep. Vitamin D is not only important for bones, but it also plays a role in many biological processes in the brain and body. People who have low vitamin D levels may have shorter sleep duration or more frequent sleep interruptions during the night. However, this relationship is not the same in every person and there may be other reasons behind it.

Similarly, Vitamin B12 is also considered very important for the nervous system of the body. This vitamin helps in keeping the body clock balanced. When levels become too low, the natural sleep-wake cycle can be disrupted in some people. Along with this, problems like fatigue, weakness and difficulty in concentrating may also appear.

Magnesium helps to relax muscles and calm the nervous system. People who are deficient in magnesium in their body have to face restlessness, stress and difficulty in sleeping.

Iron deficiency can also affect sleep quality. Doctors say that when there is less iron in the body, the flow of oxygen gets affected, which can lead to feeling of constant fatigue. In some people, this condition may also be associated with a problem called “restless leg syndrome”, which causes discomfort in the legs and disrupted sleep.

Experts say that if a person is not able to sleep for a long time and is also experiencing constant weakness, lack of concentration, frequent mood changes, headache or excessive fatigue while doing normal work, then necessary tests should be done after consulting a doctor.
