New Delhi, April 9 (IANS). In today’s busy life, people are increasingly struggling with physical and mental problems. In such times, yoga is such a simple solution, which not only keeps the body healthy but also gives peace to the mind. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, among the many asanas of yoga, Trikonasana is one such asana, which helps in keeping the body balanced.

Regular practice of Trikonasana activates the muscles of the body and improves coordination between different parts of the body. This asana is especially beneficial for those people who work sitting for long periods of time.

The biggest benefit of this asana is that it improves the balance of the body. When a person does Trikonasana, he has to keep his body stable in a particular position. This increases the ability to maintain balance inside the body and strengthens the muscles. Besides, this asana also helps in making the body flexible, which makes it easier to do everyday tasks.

Trikonasana improves blood circulation in the body. When the body is stretched in different directions, blood flow improves and oxygen reaches every organ in the right amount. Due to this, energy remains in the body and one feels less tired. Regular exercise also improves the skin as it nourishes the body from within.

This asana is also very beneficial for mental health. By doing this asana, stress and anxiety gradually starts reducing. It calms the mind and helps in increasing concentration, allowing a person to concentrate better on his work.

This asana is also helpful in strengthening the digestive system. The process of bending and stretching the body activates the abdominal organs, which improves digestion. This asana can prove beneficial for people who have gas, indigestion or stomach related problems.

To do Trikonasana, first of all stand straight and keep a little distance between the legs. Now turn one foot outside and keep the other foot slightly inside. Spread both hands in shoulder line. Slowly bend the body in the direction the leg is bent and try to touch the foot or ankle with the same hand, while keeping the other hand straight upwards. Keep in mind that the body remains balanced. Hold this position for a few seconds, then slowly straighten back up and repeat the same process on the other side.
