Troubled by vomiting and nausea during pregnancy? You will get relief from these Ayurvedic remedies

New Delhi, March 25 (IANS). In the initial months of pregnancy, many women complain of vomiting and nausea in the morning, which is called morning sickness. This can often become the first sign of pregnancy and about 80 percent of women face it. However, some women may have this problem at any time in the morning, afternoon or night. Hormonal changes, stress and fatigue are considered to be its main factors.

In this situation, it is very important to provide mental and emotional support first. Reassuring the pregnant woman that the symptoms will gradually subside is a relief to her. Additionally, it is important to identify and avoid vomiting triggers. Certain foods, dishes with strong odors, or very heavy meals may increase vomiting, so they should be avoided. Fatigue also increases nausea, so it is extremely important to get adequate rest.

One of the easiest and most effective home remedies is to eat food in small portions. Eat light food 4-5 times a day, so that the stomach remains full but does not feel heavy. Many women like cold and light things like biscuits, fruit juice or cold snacks. Eating a simple biscuit about 20 minutes before waking up in the morning also reduces nausea. Apart from this, drinking candy or sherbet made with ginger, lemon and cardamom, light soup or beverages like buttermilk also provides relief.

Some Ayurvedic remedies are also very beneficial. Taking Amalaki and raisin powder with lukewarm water or milk reduces vomiting. Taking coriander paste with rice water and some sugar twice a day keeps the stomach light and provides relief from nausea. Taking green mung soup, wood apple pulp and lajamand or decoction of mango and jamun leaves with honey also provides effective relief.

Apart from this, a woman should take care not to eat too much spicy, salty, oily and heavy food during pregnancy. Tea and coffee should not be drunk especially on an empty stomach. In case of vomiting, instead of taking medicine quickly, adopt simple home remedies.
