Ulcerative Colitis: The truth hidden in common stomach problems, know the Ayurvedic remedy

New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). Ulcerative colitis is a disease that often looks like normal stomach problems, but behind it lies chronic inflammation in the intestines. It affects the large intestine and rectum and shows symptoms like frequent loose stools, bloody stools, abdominal cramps or pain, weight loss, loss of appetite, weakness and sometimes fever.

According to Ayurveda, the main cause of this disease is the increase of Pitta and Vata dosha. Due to weak digestive power, swelling and wounds are formed in the intestines. To balance this, a cool, nutritious and dosha pacifying diet is recommended. Some Ayurvedic medicines like Kutjaghan Vati, Aloe Vera juice, Bael fruit, Isabgol, Musta, Sutshekhar Ras and Kamdudha Ras help in reducing intestinal inflammation and pain.

Home remedies are also very beneficial. It is very beneficial to drink one spoon of Isabgol, rose vine juice or pulp mixed with mint and rock salt in buttermilk and aloe vera and Amla juice twice a day with lukewarm water in the morning on an empty stomach.

Spicy, sour or very hot food should be avoided. The diet should include porridge, moong dal khichdi, boiled vegetables, coconut water, buttermilk and bel sherbet.

Along with this, improve your lifestyle also. Do regular yoga and light exercises like Vajrasana, Pawanmuktasana and Bhujangasana. Also, reduce stress, get enough sleep and take a light walk in the morning, because it is very important to maintain a balance in lifestyle to get rid of any disease or problem.

Scientifically, ulcerative colitis is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own intestinal cells. This leads to chronic inflammation and gradual formation of ulcers in the intestines. But it can be completely controlled with timely treatment, balanced diet, Ayurvedic medicines and lifestyle changes.
