New Delhi, January 30 (IANS). In today’s time, mobile screens till late night, irregular eating habits, habit of drinking less water and stress have badly affected the health of people. Its effect is first visible on the skin, stomach and joints. Sometimes the skin becomes excessively dry, sometimes the stomach does not remain clean, gas and acidity have become common problems.
In such a situation, the Ministry of AYUSH advises to include yoga in your daily routine, which teaches balance to the body. Yoga postures done with hands are an easy and effective way to achieve this balance. One of these is Varun Mudra, which is considered very useful for problems related to water element.
According to the Yoga Shastra of the Ministry of AYUSH, the human body is made up of five elements, of which the water element has special importance. When the water element in the body becomes unbalanced, its effect becomes clearly visible on the skin, digestion and joints. Varun Mudra is considered to be the mudra that balances the water element. Its regular practice helps in maintaining moisture in the body and gradually reduces many internal problems.
The biggest benefit of Varun Mudra is considered to be related to the skin. Nowadays, drinking less water and using chemical products makes the skin dry. By practicing Varun Mudra, the water element within the body starts getting balanced, which provides moisture to the skin from within. Its effect is that the skin does not feel dry and stretched, but gradually starts looking soft and healthy. The Ministry of AYUSH also believes that when the water balance of the body remains correct, many skin problems automatically start reducing.
Varuna Mudra is also considered very beneficial for people suffering from stomach problems. Due to changing lifestyle, complaints of constipation, gas and heavy stomach have become common. With regular practice of Varun Mudra, the digestive system starts working better. By providing necessary moisture to the body, intestinal activity improves and the process of bowel movement becomes easier. It has a direct effect on the problem of constipation and the stomach feels light.
Varuna Mudra can also be helpful for those who are suffering from joint pain or stiffness. Due to lack of water in the body, friction between the joints increases, due to which pain and swelling are felt. Varuna Mudra helps in maintaining flexibility in joints by balancing the water element. With regular exercise, the swelling can reduce and the difficulty in walking will gradually reduce.
Problems like acidity and heartburn have also become common in today’s time. Acidity in the stomach increases due to wrong eating habits and stress. Yoga postures help in balancing the digestive fire. Practicing Varuna Mudra calms the internal environment of the stomach and can be helpful in controlling acid levels. This provides relief from problems like heartburn, sour belching and gas.
Indigestion is also believed to be associated with disturbance of the water element. When there is a lack of moisture in the body, digestive juices are not produced in the right quantity. Varun Mudra helps in digesting food properly by improving the digestive power.
Varuna Mudra is very easy to do. Sitting comfortably in a quiet place, place your hands on your knees and lightly touch the tip of the little finger with the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining three fingers straight. Close your eyes and keep breathing deeply and normally. This mudra can be done daily for 15 to 20 minutes.
