New Delhi, February 8 (IANS). In today’s lifestyle, the problem of diabetes is being seen in people of all ages. Children are also being born with diabetes, and this is an alarm bell for the coming generation and the country.

The government continuously runs programs for the prevention of diabetes and is also running awareness campaigns, but even today patients suffering from diabetes do not know what is the appropriate diet for them. Today we will know how much milk and curd should be consumed by people suffering from diabetes.

Diabetic patients can take milk and curd, but choosing the right quantity, right time and right type is very important. Both milk and curd have low glycemic index, so they do not increase blood sugar rapidly. But at the same time it is also important to keep in mind that at what time and in what quantity is necessary. Both milk and curd are beneficial for diabetic patients as they help control blood sugar and are rich in calcium and protein, which help strengthen bones, support good gut bacteria, and help control appetite.

Now let us know the correct way of consumption. First let’s talk about milk. The glycemic index of a cup of milk and curd is between 30-40, which is perfect for patients suffering from diabetes. A diabetic patient should drink 500 grams in a day but breaking it into different parts. Avoid full fat milk and consume low-fat milk, also do not include any kind of sweet substance in milk. If you feel like eating something sweet, you can take naturally ripe dates with milk. Milk can be consumed in the morning and at night.

According to Ayurveda, curd should be consumed during the day. Do not add any kind of sweet in curd, instead add roasted cumin and black salt to it and consume it. One bowl of curd can be consumed at a time.
