New Delhi, October 13 (IANS). Pregnancy is a beautiful journey. During this time, every bite counts. Whatever the mother eats at this time becomes the foundation of the health and development of the child. Therefore, it is important to pay a little more attention to eating and drinking habits at this time.
First of all, if we talk about nutritious diet, a pregnant woman must take dairy products like milk or curd daily, because they contain calcium and protein, which is very important for the development of bones and teeth of the child.
Also, eating seasonal fruits and green leafy vegetables like spinach, fenugreek, bathua etc. provides iron and folic acid to the body, which keeps anemia away and helps in the brain development of the child.
Apart from this, whole grains like wheat, pulses, and rice provide energy to the body. Jaggery is also very good because it is a natural sweetener and increases the amount of iron in the body. Dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, and dates also give strength and strengthen the immunity of both mother and child.
If we talk about what should not be eaten, then stale food and excessively spicy or fried food during pregnancy can cause problems in digestion. Eating too much sour, salty or heavy food also puts a burden on the body. Also, one should avoid drinking excessive tea, coffee or cold drinks, as it can affect the health of the child.
Eating little, often and simply is considered best. Food should be eaten slowly, carefully and comfortably so that digestion is good and the body gets complete nutrition. One should drink plenty of water so that dehydration does not occur in the body.
Only a healthy mother gives birth to a healthy child. Therefore, during these nine months of pregnancy, balanced diet, adequate sleep and positive thinking are considered most important. Apart from this, it is important to bring some changes in your daily routine also. Wake up on time in the morning, go for a walk, eat food on time and sleep on time at night.
