WHO expressed concern about Hantavirus, study is ongoing on the duration of virus in human body.

The World Health Organization has recently issued a new warning regarding Andes Hantavirus. The organization says that the complete information about how long this virus remains active or present in the human body is not yet clear, due to which detailed study is needed.

According to WHO, this particular strain of hantavirus, called Andes virus, is usually spread through contact with infected rodents. Although in some cases it has shown the ability to spread from human to human, this condition is considered very limited and rare.

Following a few recent cases and an international outbreak, WHO and other health agencies have intensified surveillance and research into the behavior of the virus. The biggest question for scientists is that for how long can this virus remain in which parts of the body and can it remain in a dormant state for a long time.

According to reports, recent studies related to Andes Hantavirus have also indicated that in some cases the virus can persist in some parts of the body for a long time, raising new concerns about its possible effects even after infection.

Scientists believe that this situation is also important because if the virus persists in the body for a long time, it may require changes in infection control and surveillance strategies.

WHO has clarified that currently the global risk of this disease is very low, but it is still necessary to continue monitoring and research so that any potential threat in the future can be prevented in time.
