New Delhi, May 14 (IANS). Every person has his own different habits while sleeping at night. Some cannot sleep without a pillow, some like light, it is often seen that people take one leg out of the blanket while sleeping. But if we look at this habit from the point of view of science, then many important things related to the functioning of the body and the brain are hidden behind it.
According to science, it is very important for the body temperature to remain balanced for good and deep sleep. When the body reaches a state of rest after working all day, the brain gradually starts taking the body into relax mode. During this time the body tries to reduce its temperature a little. In such a situation, for many people, taking one leg out of the blanket is a part of the body’s natural process.
Our feet work quickly to expel body heat. There are many small blood vessels in the soles of the feet, which help in transferring body heat to the outside air. When a person feels too hot inside the blanket, the body itself adopts such a way to balance the temperature. In such situations, many times people unknowingly take out one of their legs while sleeping. This provides slight coolness to the body and sends a signal of relaxation to the mind.
The process of falling asleep is also mental. When the body feels cool and relaxed, the stress in the mind starts reducing. Due to this, the person feels relaxed quickly and starts getting deep sleep.
According to psychologists, many people feel uneasy when they sleep completely covered. In such a situation, keeping some part of the body outside gives them a feeling of openness and sleep is better.
