New Delhi, December 21 (IANS). The body needs energy to run smoothly and energy is provided by vitamins and minerals.
The body requires many vitamins to function, including vitamin A. Although Vitamin A is essential for the overall health of the body, it is very important for the eyes and immunity. If there is a deficiency of Vitamin A in the body, eyesight may be affected.
Vitamin A helps keep the immune system and eyes healthy. Vitamin A deficiency has a major impact on the eyes and skin. Due to its deficiency, eyesight is affected, skin becomes dull, immunity decreases and chances of falling ill again and again increases.
Vitamin A is essential for the retina of the eyes. If there is any kind of weakness in the retina, then dryness, itching and vision starts weakening in the eyes. Vitamin A moisturizes the cornea of the eyes and helps in improving eyesight.
Vitamin A helps in skin repair and formation of new cells, removes dryness and brings glow from within. Apart from this, Vitamin A also works to heal the inner surface of the lungs and intestine.
Vitamin A is a kind of immunity booster for the body. It increases the body’s ability to fight infections and protects the body from cold, cough and fever. Apart from this, its main contribution is also in strengthening the bones. Bones develop only through Vitamin A.
Now the question comes how to get Vitamin A. Vitamin A is available in vegetarian to non-vegetarian products. Sweet potatoes, carrots and spinach are good sources of it in vegetarian diet. If Vitamin A is being supplied through food intake then it is fine, but if not, then definitely consult a doctor for this. Apart from this, it is easily found in milk, ghee, butter and some non-vegetarian products.
