New Delhi, September 10 (IANS). In today’s time, excessive use of mobile and computer, working for hours and wrong lifestyle is increasing the problem of cervical spondylitis. The disease is associated with the neck and spinal cord, which not only pains, but also affects the quality of life badly.
The spinal part of the neck is called ‘cervical spine’. It contains 7 vertebrae, which supports the head and convey the message from the brain to the whole body. When these vertebrae or discs are in a state of grip, swelling or pressure, it is called cervical spondylitis.
The biggest reason for this problem is to sit in the wrong posture for a long time. In modern lifestyle, people bends and use mobile or laptop, which puts continuous pressure on the neck. In addition, injury to accident or fall, weakening of bones and discs after 40 years, stress, and lack of calcium, vitamin-D and magnesium can also cause cervicals.
Talking about the symptoms of cervicals, there may be problems such as constant pain in the neck, shoulder and back, tingling or numbness in the hand and arm, headache and dizziness, difficulty rotating the neck, fatigue and weakness and sometimes vision blur and sleeplessness.
In Ayurveda, the cervical has been called the ‘cervical column’ and has been linked to the growth of Vata dosha. As Vata dosha increases, muscles and vertebrae weaken and cause pain, tightness and inflammation.
According to Ayurveda, balanced Vata Dosha is the permanent solution to this disease.
You can adopt the following domestic and Ayurvedic remedies to eliminate cervical problems:-
Heat the celery on the pan and tie it in a cloth and then bake on the neck. This reduces pain and stiffness.
Fry garlic in mustard oil and massage it on the neck. It accelerates blood circulation and reduces inflammation.
Drinking Giloy, turmeric and ginger decoction reduces swelling and pain in the body.
Soak fenugreek seeds overnight and chew it in the morning or drink it in milk. This strengthens bones and muscles.
Bhujangasana, Tadasana, Makarasana and the neck rotating are relieved in the cervical.
Bathing with lukewarm water or applying warm bandage reduces muscle stress.
Vitamin-D deficiency is fulfilled by taking 15 to 20 minutes daily.
Apart from this, include milk, green vegetables, sesame, almonds and pulses in the diet.
Along with treatment, changes in lifestyle are necessary. Avoid using mobile or laptop for a long time. If it is necessary to sit due to work, rotate the neck every 30 minutes. Take neither very high nor very low pillow while sleeping. It is also important to stay away from stress, as it can make the problem more serious.
