New Delhi, 26 September (IANS). Over time, people’s thinking and responsibilities are also changing. Today’s youth is taking decisions with awareness about his career, relationships and family. Despite this, incidents of unwanted pregnancies in the country still remain common. Due to lack of information, social pressure and myths, women conceive unwanted.

This is the reason that every year on 26 September, ‘World contraceptive day’ is celebrated, so that people can be made aware of safe contraceptive measures.

Talking to IANS, Dr. Meera Pathak, Senior Medical Officer and Gynecologist at Noida -based CHC Bhangel said, “The purpose of celebrating” World Contraction Day “is that we can reduce unwanted pregnancy related diseases and maternal mortality.” Often such pregnancy makes delivery or abortion risk. In such a situation, only information about birth control measures and correct use can protect women.

Dr. Pathak explains that there are two types of contraceptives- temporary and permanent (permanent). Temporary contraception is used by three types of people. They are in the first category, who are recently married and do not want children yet. In the second category, people who have a child and want to distinguish between the other child. They are in the third category who have completed their family, but are not ready to adopt permanent measures. At the same time, permanent contraceptive measures are suitable for those people whose family has been completed and now they do not want further fertility.

Talking about temporary measures, Dr. Meera Pathak said, “First of all, ‘barrier methedes’, in which condoms are the most common option. It not only protects against unwanted pregnancy, but also protects against sexually transmitted diseases. However, the condom is available for both men and women. However, if not used properly, it can fail. Not as effective. “

He further said, “The second category consists of hormonal contraceptive pills, which are three types, Combined Pills, Progesterone only pills and emergency pills. Combined pills contain both estrogen and progesterone and are taken regularly for 21 days. This is followed by periods and then the next cycle begins. Progesterone only pills are especially beneficial for breastfeeding women or women who have breast cancer in their family history. The third option is the Emergency Contraceptive Pills, which is taken within 72 hours after an unsafe relationship. However, their frequent use can be harmful, as they can irregular periods and cause hormonal imbalances. ”

Dr. Pathak says that another option in hormonal measures is ‘injectable contraception’. In this, ‘Depoter Medroxyprosesterone Acetate (DMPA) injections are planted on three-three months and they remain effective for a long time. However, they may have some side effects, such as irregular bleeding and repayment of fertility.

He said, “Permanent measures include sterilization. There are many myths in society for men for men and a tubectomy for women. There are many myths in the society about Vesctomy. Some people believe that it affects masculinity or reduces sexual ability, but not. It is not. Even after Vesteromy, men can do normal sexual activities. It can only do not exist in the spirms in this. Are, so it is advisable to adopt other contraceptive measures for three months. “

Dr. Pathak described the operation of women as completely safe and about 100 percent effective. This is an ideal remedy for women who have completed the family and no longer want to conceive.
