New Delhi, 17 September (IANS). The first sip of the day matters a lot. After resting overnight, the body is ready to start the day with a new energy. In such a situation, after waking up in the morning, whatever you drink first, it has a direct impact on your health and routine.
It is advisable to drink hot water especially on an empty stomach in Ayurveda. A kind of body can be considered a reset by not considering it just a simple habit. This action works to take out the toxins (Ama) from our body, awaken digestion and balance the entire system.
During sleep, the body is in a state of rest and the digestive process also slows down. If we drink a glass of warm water as soon as we wake up in the morning, then it ignites our digestive fire. Digestive fire means that gastritis is the power that digests food correctly and converts it into juice, blood, meat and energy. When this fire slows down, problems like indigestion, constipation and fatigue arise in the body. Hot water balances this fire and helps to digest food easily throughout the day.
There is another major advantage of hot water, detoxification ie excluding toxins from the body. According to Ayurveda, Ama is the root of diseases. When food or dirt is accumulated in the body, it gradually causes diseases. By drinking a glass of warm water in the morning, it starts coming out of the body by melting Ama, which purifies the blood and keeps the organs healthy.
In addition, this habit also works to hydrate the body slowly. After sleeping overnight, the body falls into a state of light dehydration. Drinking direct cold water can cause a shock on the body, while lukewarm water is easily absorbed and provides a balanced liquid to the organs.
Mental point of view also feels a positive effect on starting the day with this short remedy. This action stabilizes the mind and prepares for the busyness of the day. It is said that the first karma of the morning decides the rhythm of the whole day, so the first sip of hot water actually acts like a reset button.
