Taking major action, Railway Protection Force (RPF) has detained 14 Bangladeshi citizens at Jalpaiguri Road station in West Bengal. All these people were traveling in the Northeast Express train going to Delhi. Officials said that fake Aadhaar cards have been recovered from them. The captured group also includes four women and four minors who had crossed the border illegally and entered Indian territory.

What was found with the arrested people?
During the regular investigation of RPF, these people were suspected, after which they were interrogated. Investigation revealed that all of them were residents of Bangladesh and were living in India illegally. On examining the documents present with them, they were found to be fake.
Many fake Aadhaar cards have been recovered from them. Malaysian currency was also found with them during the search. During initial interrogation, he told that he was going to Kashmir in search of work. RPF Inspector Biplab Dutta has confirmed that this action was taken on the basis of secret information.
What are the strict rules on illegal infiltration?
The law against entering India illegally and using fake documents is very strict. According to the new rules, using a fake passport or visa can lead to a jail term of up to 7 years and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh. RPF is now completing the process of handing over these people to the local police and concerned agencies for further legal action.
