New Delhi. An FIR has been registered against 14 officers including state DGP Shatrujit Kapoor, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarania in the suicide case of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. Y Puran Kumar had mentioned the names of these officers in his suicide note and accused them of mental torture and caste discrimination. Amneet P Kumar, IAS wife of the deceased officer, had requested the Chief Minister to intervene in this matter and demanded registration of an FIR.
The FIR names Amitabh Dhillon ADGP, Sanjay Kumar ADGP, Pankaj Nain IGP 2007 batch, Kala Ramachandran IPS 1994 batch, Sandeep Khirwar IPS 1995 batch, Sibash Kaviraj IPS 1999 batch, Manoj Yadav former DGP, PK Aggarwal former DGP, TVSN Prasad IAS, Rajeev Arora former ACS, Kulwinder Singh. IG Madhuvan and Mata Ravi Kiran ADGP Karnal is the name of the range. After the FIR has been registered, there is now discussion that the DGP and other officers can be sent on leave. Let us tell you that ADGP Y Puran Kumar shot himself in the basement of his house in Sector 11, Chandigarh on 7 October.
When this incident happened, Puran Kumar’s wife IAS Amneet P Kumar was on a tour to Japan with a delegation led by CM Nayab Singh Saini. She returned to India on Wednesday after receiving the news of her husband’s death. After this, Amneet raised questions on the attitude of Haryana Police and stopped the post-mortem. CM Nayab Singh Saini had met the victim’s family yesterday at their home and assured them of action, after which action started against the officials late in the night. Puran Kumar had written at the end of the suicide note, I can’t bear it anymore, the people who brought me to this situation are responsible for my death.
