The Tamil Nadu government has ordered a ban on the sale of ‘Colderif’ Kapha syrup after the death of 11 children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
An official of the Food Safety and Drug Department said that from October 1, the sale of ‘Kapha Syrup’ is ordered to be banned in Tamil Nadu.
This action was taken when the Tamil Nadu government drug testing laboratory investigation found a batch quality standards and adulteration of Diathylene Glacol in it.
Please tell that in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, cough medicine (Kapha syrup) has killed 11 children.
A total of nine children have been killed in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh country so far and one child in Sikar in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. After the death of the children, the Cuff Syrup, which came under the investigation, has now been ordered to stop production immediately by the Tamil Nadu government.
Deputy Director and Controling Authority of Drugs Control and License Authority S. Gurbharati informed that a show cause notice has also been issued to the manufacturer for cancellation of construction license.
