New Delhi. Now Agniveer is recruited in all three armies. Who are taken into service for 4 years. Earlier the rule was made for Agniveer recruitment that after 4 years of service, 25 percent of them who performed excellently would be made permanent in the army. The rest will be retired by paying around Rs 12 lakh. Now Indian Express newspaper has given important news on Agniveer. According to the newspaper, it may soon be decided that 75 of the recruited Agniveers should be made permanent in the Army, Air Force and Navy.
The issue of Agniveer may be further discussed in the Army Commanders Conference in Jaisalmer. Earlier information has come that a report regarding making more Agniveers permanent in the three armies has been submitted to the Modi government. The first batch of Agniveers is to retire in 2026. In such a situation, if the government decides to make 75 percent of these soldiers permanent in the army, then there will be an atmosphere of happiness among these soldiers serving in the army and their families. Agniveer will also work harder to give his best performance. The firefighters of the Army and Air Force had also displayed tremendous bravery in Operation Sindoor in May. Many firefighters have also received medals for this.
When the Modi government brought the Agniveer scheme four years ago, there was a lot of opposition to it. The reason was that Agniveer was to serve only for 4 years. Besides, a provision was also made not to give pension to retiring firefighters. The youth also demonstrated against the Agniveer scheme at many places, but later the youth stopped the movement and showed their enthusiasm to become Agniveer. Every year thousands of Agniveers are being recruited in the three armies. Making 75 percent of Agniveer permanent will also make it easier for the armies. Reservation has already been made for firefighters retiring from central paramilitary forces and state police.
