Akhilesh Yadav gave a big statement on the alleged rape of a minor, said, "Kanpur's ADG is a junk mafia"

Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government and Kanpur Police over the alleged rape of a minor girl in Sachendi area, accusing the Kanpur ADG of being part of the “scrap mafia”.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, “Kanpur’s ADG is a scrap mafia. The scrap mafia active in Noida has now been given powers in Kanpur too. What will happen if police officers continue to sit at the top like this? Earlier, there was an incident in Kanpur in which people were forced to drink urine. The recent incident is very sad. Only yesterday I met the people of Sonbhadra… Seven people lost their lives. People working in mines BJP Complaints have not been registered properly yet. You can imagine that this is what is happening in Uttar Pradesh.”

The case pertains to the alleged rape of a minor girl in Sachendi, Kanpur, for which a complaint was initially filed against unknown persons. As the investigation progressed, Kanpur Police identified two suspects and arrested one of them. Importantly, the name of a police sub-inspector has also surfaced in connection with this crime.

Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal has confirmed that raids are underway to arrest the absconding sub-inspector. “A case of rape of a minor girl has been registered in Sachendi. Based on the allegations, two persons have been identified and one accused has been arrested. The name of a police sub-inspector has also surfaced. Four teams have been deployed to arrest him,” Lal told ANI.

He further said that strict action has been initiated against the negligent officers. The Station House Officer (SHO) of the concerned police station has been suspended for lapses in handling the case. According to Lal, after the arrest of the absconding sub-inspector, proceedings will be initiated to dismiss him from service on the basis of evidence. Other political leaders have also reacted to the incident.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari expressed surprise at the alleged involvement of a policeman in this crime. He said, “It is extremely unfortunate that a policeman was also involved in this. This incident is extremely unfortunate and sad.” He expressed concerns about accountability within the police force. The case has sparked widespread outrage, with opposition leaders questioning the credibility of law enforcement and demanding tough punishment for all those involved. Officials have said the investigation is ongoing and more information will emerge as the investigation progresses.
