Ayodhya Mosque Scheme was rejected by Development Authority due to pending NOC: RTI reply

The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has rejected the mosque construction scheme in Dhannipur village here, citing non -objection certificate from government departments. The land was allotted to the state Sunni Central Waqf Board as per the decision of the Supreme Court.

In response to RTI, the ADA said in a letter written on 16 September that the Masjid Trust had applied on 23 June 2021 which was dismissed due to non -objection certificates from other departments including public work, pollution control, civil aviation, irrigation, revenue, municipal corporation and fire services.

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court ordered the Hindu side to give 2.77 acres of the disputed site to build the temple. At the same time, Muslims were issued a command to give five acres of land for mosque construction at a prominent place in Ayodhya itself.

In compliance with the order of the court, Ayodhya District Administration had given land to Sunni Central Waqf Board to build a mosque in Dhannipur village in Sohawal Tehsil of Ayodhya.

On August 3, 2020, the then District Magistrate of Ayodhya Anuj Kumar Jha transferred the land possession to the Sunni Central Waqf Board. This land is located 25 km from Ayodhya. The Mosque Trust applied for the approval of the map and other structure maps in the Ayodhya Development Authority on 23 June 2021.

In response to an RTI, the Ayodhya Development Authority has admitted that government departments have not given no objection certificates and other documents for the approved of the mosque, so the application of the Masjid Trust has been rejected.

Ayodhya Development Authority said in response to RTI filed by journalist Om Prakash Singh that the authority has rejected the application of the Masjid Trust due to non -objection certificate from various government departments.

In response to RTI, the authority has also stated that the Masjid Trust has paid Rs 4,02,628 as an application and investigation fee. The land on which this ‘Dhannipur Ayodhya Mosque’ is to be constructed is given to the Muslim side in compliance with the order given by the Supreme Court in the Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid case.
