A big announcement of ‘Bharat Bandh’ has been made across the country on 12 February 2026. Trade unions and farmer organizations have together called for this 24-hour strike. About 30 crore employees are expected to participate in this bandh. Its direct impact can be seen on banking services, government work and transport. This strike will start from midnight on 11th February and will continue for 24 hours.

🚨: UAE Minister announced, children’s journey in school bus will not exceed 45-60 minutes.

What will be open and what will be closed on 12th February?

During this strike, essential services related to the convenience of the common man will not be disrupted. Emergency services like hospitals, ambulances, medical stores and fire brigades will function normally. Electricity and water supply will also continue. Stock markets (BSE and NSE) will remain open and flights will also fly, but passengers have been advised to leave the airport a little early.

May remain closed: Government banks, government offices, buses and taxis in some states.
Will be open: Hospital, medical store, digital banking, ATM and electricity and water supply.

What will be the impact on banks and buses?

This bandh can have a big impact on the functioning of government banks. Banks like SBI and Bank of Baroda have already informed the customers that there may be difficulty in check clearance or cash deposit in the branch. Counter service may remain slow due to involvement of bank unions. However, ATM and online banking will remain fully operational. Government buses and taxi services may also be affected in many states, especially in states like Kerala and West Bengal where unions have more influence.

Regarding what demands is the protest taking place?

This bandh has been called in protest against the new policies of the government, privatization and the proposed India-US trade deal. Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and 10 big trade unions are involved in this. He says that these policies are against the workers and farmers. Strict security arrangements have been made in states like Delhi, Kerala and West Bengal so that there is no jam on the roads and people do not face problems.
