A major report has been presented in Parliament regarding the safety and deaths of Indian laborers working abroad. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh told in the Rajya Sabha that thousands of Indians have lost their lives abroad between 2021 and 2025. Most of these cases have been reported from Gulf countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia, which is a matter of great concern for the expatriates. According to statistics, on an average more than 20 Indian workers are losing their lives every day.

A total of 37,740 Indian workers have died abroad between 2021 and 2025, the Indian government said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha. More than 86 percent of these deaths have been recorded in Gulf countries alone. The government does not have any detailed description of the causes of these deaths, but this number is increasing year after year.
