BJP has so far declared candidates for 83 assembly seats. A day earlier on Tuesday, BJP had released the first list of 71 candidates. Women have also been kept in mind while declaring candidates in BJP. In the first list, BJP gave tickets to 9 women while in the second list also the names of two women candidates are there. By the way, there was already discussion going on about Maithili Thakur that BJP can field her in the elections from Alinagar assembly seat.
Maithili had formally joined BJP on Tuesday and her ticket was announced the very next day. Following speculations that Maithili Thakur would be given ticket from Alinagar seat, sitting BJP MLA Mishri Lal Yadav had recently resigned from the party. However, earlier Maithili had expressed her desire to contest elections from her home constituency Benipatti. Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in two phases in Bihar. Voting will be held for the first phase on November 6 and for the second phase on November 11, while the counting of votes will take place on November 14.
