Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary targets RJD, says "People of Bihar consider Lalu Yadav's family as villains"

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary on Saturday claimed that the people of Bihar consider RJD chief Lalu Yadav’s family as “villains”. Speaking to reporters, Choudhary said, “The people of Bihar know who is the hero and who is the villain. People consider Lalu Yadav’s family as villains, who looted Bihar, worsened its economic condition and destroyed its prosperity…”

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged Bihar voters to elect a government committed to development and law and order, and warned against the return of “jungle raj” if the RJD-led grand alliance comes to power. Addressing an election rally in Khagaria, Shah said it was the NDA government that worked to eliminate Naxalism from Bihar.

Shah said at a rally, “We have worked to free Bihar from Naxalism. This election will decide whether to bring back jungle raj or development raj in Bihar. Do you want jungle raj? If the Lalu-Rabri government comes to power, jungle raj will also come with it. If the NDA government is formed, then developed Bihar will be recognized all over India. Use your vote wisely.”

“The NDA alliance consists of five Pandavas (BJP, JD(U), LJP(RV), HAM(S) and RLM). Bless it and make it victorious,” he said.

Voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the results will be declared on November 14. The main contest is between the ruling Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led NDA and the RJD-led opposition ‘Grand Alliance’. The NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (United). Lok Morcha (RLM).

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led grand alliance includes the Congress, Dipankar Bhattacharya-led Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) and Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
