Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Monday said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won all the five Rajya Sabha seats in the state and said that the opposition is disappointed with the party’s victory. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) made a clean sweep in Bihar by winning all the five Rajya Sabha seats.
Speaking to ANI after the results were declared, Sinha said, “NDA has won all five seats… NDA’s victory has further disappointed the opposition… All five NDA candidates have won in Bihar… Their people did not come to vote. These people (opposition) blame them for losing.”
Congratulating the winners, Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav said, “All five NDA candidates have won and I congratulate everyone. The way the NDA has been winning so far, it will continue to win in the future as well.” BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the NDA has achieved unbreakable unity and a spectacular victory. He further said, “It is a day of great excitement. Unbreakable unity of NDA and resounding victory of NDA. Is there any unity in the opposition?”.
Meanwhile, RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Amarendra Dhari Singh said that the election process was rigged. He further said, “Despite winning, we lost. We had the majority. There was political bargaining in this, and the four voters who did not come to vote were from our alliance.” The Rajya Sabha elections, held every two years, were held to fill 37 seats in 10 states. Of these 37 seats, 26 candidates have already been elected unopposed, while voting took place for the remaining 11 seats, which include five seats in Bihar.
