The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released the list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, which includes prominent leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda. It also includes Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Education Minister.
BJP’s list of 40 star campaigners for the Bihar Assembly elections has a mix of prominent leaders, chief ministers and celebrities. This includes 5 BJP Chief Ministers – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
It also brings back people who were out of the political limelight for some time and among those who have not got tickets to contest the elections, former Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani is the biggest name, which also includes former Union Ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Radha Mohan Singh, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Apart from her, both Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi and several other states Ministers are also included in this list.

It also includes some big names of Bhojpuri cinema, actor-singer turned politician Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Dinesh Lal Yadav “Nirahua”.
The last date for nomination for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections is October 17, while voting will take place on November 6. Earlier on Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party released its third list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, which included 18 names.
Meanwhile, the Janata Dal (United) on Thursday released its second list of 44 candidates, taking the total number of candidates with the BJP to 101. Other NDA allies, including Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha, have also announced six of their candidates, while Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is yet to field candidates on many seats.
While the National Democratic Alliance is set to begin its campaign for the Bihar elections, the Grand Alliance is yet to finalize the seat sharing formula. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav also filed his nomination from Raghopur assembly constituency on Wednesday ahead of the assembly elections. Voting for the second phase of the Bihar elections will be held on November 11 and the results will be declared on November 14.
