Bihar government has taken many big and important decisions for the workers going abroad for employment. The state’s ‘Youth, Employment and Skill Development Department’ (YESD) has clarified that now full care will be taken for the safety and convenience of the migrants. The government has doubled the compensation amount for the people of Bihar working abroad and has also made the rules strict regarding the training given before going abroad.
In which cities will there be free training?
The government has made ‘Pre-Departure Orientation Training’ (PDOT) mandatory for workers going abroad. This training is absolutely free and is being given on different days of the week in five cities of Bihar. Its purpose is to give information to the workers about the laws and culture of the foreign country.

Government will bear the cost of compensation and bringing the dead body
A major decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on 6 February 2026 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Under this, in case of death of laborers working abroad or outside the state, now their families will get compensation of Rs 2 lakh. 4 lakh rupees Will get compensation. Apart from this, if a laborer dies abroad, the Bihar government will now bear the entire expense of bringing his dead body to his native village. This decision has brought great relief to poor families.
How to apply for training?
This training is essential for those traveling to countries where ‘Emigration Clearance’ (ECR) is required. This is an 8 hour class a day. The training is completely free and no money is charged for it. Government of India portal to interested workers pdot.mea.gov.in You will have to go and register yourself. For this, passbook or job ID is required. The slogan of the government is ‘Go safe, go trained’ so that no laborer gets into trouble by going abroad.
