New Delhi. The Election Commission has also announced the dates of the by -election to be held in seven states eight assembly seats along with the Bihar assembly elections. Apart from two assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, a by -election is to be held for one assembly seat in other states. The eight assembly seats that will be by-elections include Badgam in Jammu and Kashmir and Nagarota, Rajasthan’s Anta, Punjab’s Tarn Taran, Jharkhand’s Ghatshila, Jubilee Hills in Telangana, Dapa of Mizoram and Nuapada seat of Odisha. All these seats will be cast on the day of voting of the second phase of Bihar i.e. November 11 and the results will be declared on 14 November.
Due to the resignation of Budgam seat Omar Abdullah, while the Nagarota seat was vacant due to the death of MLA Devendra Singh Rana, the by -election has to be held there. Similarly, Kanwarlal was disqualified in Anta Assembly of Rajasthan, so this seat became vacant. The by -election is being held there due to the death of Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal, MLA of Tarn Taran, Punjab. Similarly, the by -election is being held due to the death of MLA Ramdas Soren in Ghatsila Assembly of Jharkhand, death of Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath in Telangana, death of Damp MLA Lalrintaluanga Sallo and death of MLA Rajendra Dholakia in Nuapada, Odisha.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced the election dates through a press conference. He said that the list of voters was released on September 30 for the Bihar assembly elections, if someone’s name has not been included in the list, then he can include his name in the voter list till 10 days before the election nomination. Explain that voting will be held on 6 and 11 November in two phases for 243 assembly seats in Bihar. The by -elections in all states including Bihar will be counted simultaneously on 14 November.
