Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal arrived in Doha to co-head the meeting of the Indo-Kartar Joint Commission

India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to co-head the meeting of the Indo-Kartar Joint Commission. During this meeting, he shared the vision of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s self -reliant rich India (Viksit Bharat 2047).

Addressed to the Indian migrant community

In this meeting held in Doha, Union Minister Piyush Goyal addressed the Indian migrant community. He appreciated the contribution of Indian migrant communities for strengthening India-Karti relations. At the same time, appealing to the Indians, they said that they should find new avenues of trade and cultural cooperation and strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Posting on his official platform X, Piyush Goyal wrote, “Addressing the Indian community in Doha, appreciated his invaluable contribution. PM @narendramodi ji discussed the vision of self-reliant and rich India which is the basis of traveling 2047.

Indians living in Qatar suggested to create an integrated online database

During this, Piyush Goyal suggested to create an integrated online database of Indians living in Qatar. By doing this, there will be better contact with the Indian community. The Union Minister said, “There is no integrated database of Indians living in Qatar. It is not necessary under any pressure but with a sense of connection. In good or bad times, staying in contact with each other is always beneficial. We can make a simple online registration, which will not have any confidential information that we can join each other only when needed.”

Mr. Goyal said, “More than 100 Indian organizations are active in Qatar and every Indian can be motivated to join some of these organizations.”

Part of a tree mother’s name

Piyush Goyal also planted saplings at the Indian Embassy in Doha, which is part of the campaign in the name of a tree mother of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. During this, he also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi while paying floral tributes.

Trade between India and Qatar over $ 14 billion

Mr. Goyal also met his counterpart of Qatar, Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani bin Faisal al Thani. In this meeting, leaders of the two countries discussed the proposed India-Kar-Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and worked on finalizing Terms of Reference (Tor) for Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The meeting also discussed review of business performance between the two countries, removing business obstacles and increasing investment and trade flow.

Let us know that the trade between India and Qatar in FY 2024-25 was more than $ 14 billion, which shows the great possibilities of development and partnership between the two countries.
