A total of 97 flights were canceled and over 200 flights were delayed due to low visibility due to fog at Delhi airport on Sunday.
In this regard, an official said that 48 arrival and 49 departure flights were canceled at the airport.According to the latest information available on flight tracking website ‘flyradar24.com’, more than 200 flights were delayed and departures of flights at the airport were delayed by about 23 minutes on an average.
Delhi airport operator DILL said in a post in the afternoon that operations were continuing smoothly. DILL operates Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which is the largest airport in the country and typically handles around 1,300 flights daily. Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi and other airports have been disrupted for the last several days.
On the other hand, a travel advisory has been issued by Indigo Airlines on Sunday, in which passengers have been alerted about delays and changes in flight operations. This advisory has been issued specifically for Srinagar Airport, where there is continuous dense fog and visibility has reduced considerably. The airline appealed to the passengers to check the status of their flight on its website or mobile app before going to the airport.
