The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), taking a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a complainant, arrested four accused, including three officers of the Military Engineer Service (MES), Sagar and a middleman.
According to a release, the CBI had filed a case against MES, Sagar’s Garrison Engineer (GE), Assistant Garrison Engineer (AGE) and a middleman, alleging that the accused public servants had sought a contract price ₹ 1,00,000 of 2 % through the contract price to provide contractual site for repair and maintenance work under the contract given to a contractor.
After the conversation, the accused agreed to accept the bribe of 80,000/- at the rate of 1.5 percent of the contract price from the complainant. The CBI laid a trap and caught the four accused taking a bribe of 80,000/- from the complainant. Later, the above accused were arrested and they will be produced in the court of Special Judge, CBI case, Jabalpur on 12.09.2025. The office and residential complexes of the accused were searched, which recovered objectionable documents/materials.
