Delhi Labor Minister Kapil Mishra said on Wednesday that construction workers affected by the third and fourth phases of the Phased Response Action Plan (GRAP) related to tackling pollution will be given a compensation of Rs 10,000 each.
The minister also said that it will be mandatory for all government and private institutions to make 50 percent of their employees work from home from Thursday and action will be taken if this is not done.
While addressing the press conference, Mishra said that the third phase of GRAP is in force since 16 days and the workers affected by the implementation of restrictions will be given Rs 10,000 each as compensation. He said, “Similarly, workers will be compensated when the fourth phase of GRAP is implemented.” Only government registered workers will get these benefits. The registration process is going on.” He said that hospitals, departments involved in dealing with air pollution, fire department and other essential services will be exempted.
Mishra also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for protesting against the government. He said, “Their Chief Minister used to run away in this season, but our Chief Minister is out on the streets. They are doing dirty politics. The problem of pollution that has been going on for 30 years cannot be solved in five months.
