Delhi Police has tightened the security arrangements in the entire capital in view of the festival of Holi to be held on March 4, 2026. In view of the month of Ramadan and the ongoing tense situation in the Middle East, the police department is on high alert. Police Commissioner Satish Golchha held a meeting with all senior officers and gave strict instructions to increase patrolling and set up additional check posts.

Strict action will be taken against those who violate traffic rules
The traffic police has made special preparations to prevent ruckus on the roads on the day of Holi. Zero tolerance policy has been adopted against those who drink and drive. The following instructions have been issued for those not following the rules:
Drunk Driving: The driving license of those who drink and drive will be suspended for at least 3 months.
Checking Picket: Special teams with breath analyzers will be deployed at major intersections and turns of Delhi.
Other rules: Heavy fines will be imposed on those driving without helmet, triple riding and jumping red light.
Stunt Driving: The vehicles of those performing dangerous stunts on the roads can be confiscated immediately.
New time for security and metro in sensitive areas
Keeping security in mind, police has started flag march in sensitive areas like North-East Delhi and Jama Masjid. Security at embassies and Shia-dominated areas has also been increased due to the Middle East crisis. Keeping in view the convenience and safety of passengers, the operating timings of the metro have also been changed.

Delhi Police has appealed to the people not to forcibly put colors in public places and celebrate the festival in a peaceful manner. The digital unit is also keeping a close watch on those spreading rumors on social media so that any kind of disturbance can be prevented.
