Etihad Flight Update: Etihad Airways resumes flights, ban on going to airport without confirmed ticket

In view of the current security situation in the Gulf and West Asia, Etihad Airways has restarted its limited flights. The airline issued a new update on its website on March 13, 2026 and has given an important travel advisory for the passengers. Flights are currently running on a limited basis from Abu Dhabi to about 70 places around the world including India’s Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Keeping security in mind, this new schedule will be applicable from March 6 to March 19, 2026.

🚨: Saudi Arabia made new arrangements for Umrah pilgrims, special ambulance landed in Mecca for medical emergencies.

New rules for ticket rebooking and refund

To reduce the hassle of passengers, Etihad Airways has relaxed the rules of ticket rebooking and refund. People whose flights have been affected due to the current situation can get their work done under these rules:

Old Tickets: Those who had booked tickets on or before 28 February 2026 and their travel was scheduled till 21 March 2026, can rebook their flights till 15 May 2026 without any extra fees.
New Tickets: The airline has waived the date change fee once for tickets booked on or after March 6, 2026. This discount will be applicable on journeys till March 31, 2027, however, the passenger will have to pay the difference in fare.
Full Refund: Passengers whose journey was on or before March 21, 2026 and have not used the ticket, will be given full refund of the ticket amount.

Keep these things in mind before going to the airport

Strict rules have just been implemented at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. To manage crowd and security properly, only passengers with confirmed tickets are being allowed inside the airport terminal. The airline has clearly said that unless you have a confirmed booking or have been contacted by the airline, do not go towards the airport.

Apart from Etihad, other big airlines like Emirates, Air Arabia, Flydubai, Air India and Qatar Airways are also flying by changing their schedules. Etihad Airways has said in its official statement that the safety of passengers and staff is paramount and regular flights will be started as soon as the situation becomes normal after getting clearance from the authority.
