Flag hoisting at the peak of Ram temple is 'the beginning of a new era': Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday described the flag hoisting at the peak of Ram temple in Ayodhya as “the beginning of a new era”.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel for being present in this program.

Addressing the visitors, Adityanath said the grand temple of Lord Ram is a symbol of “faith, honor and self-pride” of 140 crore Indians. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the “Karmayogis” who contributed to its construction.

He said the day is dedicated to the “unwavering devotion” of the saints, warriors and Ram devotees who dedicated their lives to the movement and the long struggle that resulted in the construction of the temple.

Adityanath said that when Modi took over the leadership of the country as Prime Minister in 2014, “the sun of resolve and confidence” arose in the hearts of millions of people.

“Today, that resolution has been fulfilled in front of all Indians and devotees in the form of this grand Ram temple,” he said. He said that the flag flying over the Ram temple is a symbol of truth, justice, dignity and national religion.

Adityanath said, “It also shows the vision of a developed India, because there is no substitute for determination, and in the last 11 years we all have seen a changing India. We are seeing an India where heritage and development exist in perfect harmony, taking the country to new heights.”

Referring to the Ram Mandir movement, he said that the unwavering faith remained, and when the struggle started under the leadership of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the same resolve echoed throughout the movement: “Ramlalla, we will come, we will build the temple there… we will take lathi-goli, but we will build the temple there.”

Adityanath said there was a time when Ayodhya was neglected and there was chaos, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, it has now turned into a “global spiritual capital”.
