All doors are opening up towards the Bharat Mandapam as a crowd of young enthusiasts, including entrepreneurs and students, are flocking to the venue of the All India Impact Summit in the hope that they will be able to benefit from the important discussions shaping Artificial Intelligence and its proliferation.

The summit brings together global technology leaders, eminent researchers, multilateral institutions and industry stakeholders to deliberate on the role of AI in driving inclusive growth, strengthening public systems and enabling sustainable development.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav appreciated the enthusiasm of the youth towards artificial intelligence and their presence in large numbers at the AI summit. He highlighted how India is using AI to solve real-world problems and called on the top intellectuals gathered at the summit to come up with solutions that make AI safe for all.

The Minister said, “Around 250,000 people were present yesterday. I got an unprecedented response as I interacted with the youth. I was deeply moved by the optimism the youth expressed towards this occasion. Seeing their optimism gives me immense hope for a brand new future for our country and the world.”

Highlighting that India is taking an inclusive approach to AI across sectors, Vaishnav said, “In India, we are very optimistic about AI in cutting-edge technology, AI in solving real-world problems, AI in improving productivity in enterprises, and AI in solving population-level problems like healthcare and agriculture.”

The Union Minister supported the views of Prime Minister Modi, who in his interview to ANI had praised India’s talent and entrepreneurial energy and talked about making it an AI powerhouse. Prime Minister Modi said the government is committed to strengthening every effort by the youth to make AI a “force-multiplier” for innovation.

He said, “India has the talent and entrepreneurial energy to become an AI powerhouse, not only as a consumer but also as a producer. Our startups, research institutes and tech ecosystem can develop AI solutions that boost manufacturing, improve governance and create new jobs. I am confident that our youth can develop AI solutions tailored to the Indian conditions, designed for farmers, small and medium enterprises, women entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators. “We are committed to strengthening every effort made by our talented youth to make AI a force-multiplier for innovation and inclusion. Union Budget 2026-27 reinforces this vision by expanding support for data centers and cloud infrastructure, thereby strengthening domestic computing capacity.”

Prime Minister Modi said that under the IndiaAI framework, startups and research institutes are being supported by providing access to high-performance AI computing resources. Continued boost to semiconductor manufacturing, electronics PLI, AI centers of excellence and digital skill development strengthens the foundation of both hardware and human capital. In short, we are not only nurturing talent, but we are also building the infrastructure, policy ecosystem and skill base needed for India to participate in the AI revolution and shape it.

India’s former G20 Sherpa Amitabh Khan has also stressed that India has the talent and data to become a top AI power, as well as the capacity to ensure it is available to all.

Amitabh Kant said, “I agree with the vision put forward by the Prime Minister for the country, because India has both talent and data… so that when we grow, we grow with equity. We agree that on the strength of talent and data, India will be one of the leading powers in the field of AI. We will also ensure that our citizens have access to it.”

Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s views, Kant said India’s growing IT market will play a key role in this transformation. He highlighted the importance of IT companies in adopting AI and cited India’s success in developing open APIs and globally interoperable digital models as a key strength in this journey. “The Indian AI market is expanding rapidly and regardless of AI, we will need a significant role from IT companies… We have demonstrated open APIs and globally interoperable models,” he said.

UN Under-Secretary-General and UN Special Envoy for Digital and Emerging Technologies Amandeep Singh Gill said India, with its vast talent pool, can work with the world in this area.

He said, “I believe that India can achieve success by working closely not only with countries in the Global South, but also with countries that are struggling to make headway in the field of digital development. India can work towards this by sharing its experiences, strengthening digital public infrastructure, promoting interoperability, sharing use cases, working closely with other countries in similar circumstances in sectors such as agriculture, health and education, and strengthening human capacity and talent development. “India has a huge pool of talent and has started promoting this talent development. I believe these are all areas where India can work together with the rest of the world.”

The intellectual framework of the AI-India Impact Summit is based on three fundamental principles. The first principle is ‘people’, which affirms that AI should serve all the diversity of humanity, while maintaining dignity and inclusivity. The second principle is ‘Planet’, which ensures that innovation is in line with environmental protection and sustainability. The third principle is ‘progress’, which emphasizes that the benefits of AI should be shared equally across all societies. These principles together establish a harmony of ambition and responsibility.

The summit positions India as a convener and partner in global AI collaboration, supporting shared standards, collaborative frameworks and scalable solutions for the common good. It marks a transition from dialogue to implementation, strengthening India’s commitment towards responsible, inclusive and development-focused AI pathways.
