An Indian working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has won a big prize in his very first attempt. Muruganath Govinthan of Tamil Nadu has won 50 lakh dirhams i.e. about Rs 11-12 crore in UAE Lottery. He had come to UAE only 10 months ago to meet his family’s needs and his fortunes changed the moment he bought a ticket for the first time.

How were the winning numbers bought?
To participate in this lottery, Muruganath had bought the ticket along with his friend Babu Rao. Both of them had given half the ticket money, hence the winning amount will be divided equally between them. The winning numbers in this draw held on 14 February 2026 were 11, 19, 28, 15, 31 and 7. Muruganath told that he had chosen these numbers keeping in mind the year of his daughter’s birth and the date of his engagement.

Muruganath says that he was facing a lot of difficulties for the last 43 years and his family still lives in a rented house in India. After this victory, his biggest dream is to build his own house for his family. This win is also special because the second prize of the lottery was recently increased from 10 lakh to 50 lakh dirhams and Muruganath has become the first person to win it. The Game LLC has also described this win as life-changing.
