Due to increasing military tension between Iran and Israel, thousands of Indian students studying there are in trouble. Iran has closed its airspace, due to which international flights have come to a complete halt. In such a situation, the Iranian government has allowed foreign students to leave the country through land borders. The Indian Embassy has issued necessary protocols for the safe evacuation of the students and has asked them to remain in constant touch.
What are the new rules for exiting Iran?
Iranian officials have informed through Tasnim News that students who are stranded due to closure of flights can use the land borders of Turkey and Armenia. The Indian Embassy is issuing emergency travel documents for students whose visas have expired. Students have been advised to carry their passport and original ID card with them during the journey. For safe travel, students have been advised to travel in groups and share their GPS location with the Embassy.
What is the latest situation regarding university and examinations?
Due to security reasons, all universities and hostels in main cities like Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz have been closed. Keeping in mind the safety of the students, the Education Department has taken the following major decisions:
