India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar spoke over phone with his counterparts from Iran, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar on Sunday 5 April 2026. This diplomatic discussion is considered very important in view of the increasing conflict and tension between America, Israel and Iran in the Middle East. Jaishankar has discussed in detail the current situation in the region and the ways to restore peace with the leaders of these three countries.

Iran: This was the sixth conversation with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi since the beginning of the West Asia crisis. Both sides shared views on regional and international developments.
UAE: The changing circumstances in West Asia were discussed with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Queue: Apart from the conflict, the focus was also on the gas supply chain in talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman.
