Karnataka: Fire breaks out in garbage warehouse in Vasant Naraspura industrial area of Tumkur

A massive fire broke out in a warehouse storing waste oil and scrap in Vasant Naraspura Phase-1 industrial area in Tumkur taluk on Sunday, officials said. According to initial reports, the fire broke out in a warehouse storing industrial waste. It is being told that this warehouse belongs to Delhi-based industrialist RK Impression and is connected to an industrial unit operating in the area. The fire spread rapidly due to oil drums kept in the premises.

Fire officials said the fire continued to burn for more than two hours and gave rise to thick smoke, causing panic in nearby industrial units. Fire brigade personnel from Tumkur and Shira Nagar rushed to the spot but found it difficult to control the fire due to the highly flammable materials stored in the warehouse.
