Senior Bihar BJP leader and former Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding an investigation into the murder of Lalit Narayan Mishra, who was the Railway Minister in Indira Gandhi’s government. Ashwini Kumar Choubey has demanded in the petition that a fresh investigation into the murder of Lalit Narayan Mishra should be conducted under the supervision of the court. Let us tell you that Ashwini Choubey has earlier claimed that there is evidence related to the murder of Lalit Narayan Mishra and Congress got him murdered. Lalit Narayan Mishra was the Railway Minister and was assassinated in Bihar 50 years ago.

Former Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey claims that the CBI did not investigate the murder of Lalit Narayan Mishra properly. Also, wrong people were convicted in this murder case. Ashwini Choubey has said in the petition filed in Delhi High Court that former Railway Minister Lalit Narayan Mishra was murdered as part of a big political conspiracy. So that the popular leader who politically challenged Indira Gandhi, who was the PM at that time, could be removed from the way. Ashwini Choubey has claimed that Lalit Narayan Mishra was also going to join the JP movement. If this had happened, he could have become a big political threat to the Indira government. He has also given many documents including the CID report in the court.

In Delhi High Court, Justice Vivek Chaudhary and Manoj Jain raised the question on Ashwini Choubey’s petition as to why investigation is being demanded after so many years. The court has also warned that if solid basis is not found in the petition, then heavy fine will be imposed on Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Lalit Narayan Mishra was assassinated on 2 January 1975 by throwing a grenade in Samastipur, Bihar. At the time of the murder, Lalit Narayan Mishra was inaugurating the railway project. After investigating the murder of Lalit Narayan Mishra, CBI had named Santoshanand, Sudevanand, Gopalji and Ranjan Dwivedi of Anandmargi organization as accused. All of them were found guilty and sentenced by the Delhi court in 2014.
