He said that such incidents have happened in Manipur, UP, Bihar and Odisha. When this happens in other states, that too is condemnable. On this statement of CM Mamata Banerjee, the politics of West Bengal is likely to heat up again. The medical student who was raped in Durgapur is 23 years old. She had gone out for dinner with her friend on Friday night. In the case of rape of a student, Durgapur police took swift action and arrested three accused. Search is going on for two others. Meanwhile, the student’s father has requested CM Mamata Banerjee to give permission to take his daughter to Odisha. At present the student is admitted in a hospital in Durgapur. His condition is said to be stable. The police are interrogating the friends who accompanied the student and several staff members of the private medical college.
In the complaint given to the police, the student’s family said that when she came out of the college campus, three people started following her and thrashing her. After this, when they reached near the forest area, the accused came closer rapidly. On this the student’s friend ran away from the spot. Then the three accused dragged the student to the forest.
